Work

Same skill, different scales.

Enterprise systems and one-person shops, written up the way I learned to write in a newsroom: what was broken, what I built, what changed.

Configure-price-quote platform

The situation
Quoting a configurable product took days. Requests arrived by email, lived in inboxes, and disappeared.
What I built
Led the team that designed, implemented, and still maintains the configure-price-quote platform for a global manufacturer, and moved quote requests off email into a ticketing system with real metrics attached.
What changed
Quoting went from days to minutes, and for the first time there was data showing exactly where the bottlenecks were.

AI quote-request agent

The situation
A team processing quote requests by hand, one at a time, at a volume that consumed most of the week.
What I built
A production AI agent that reads incoming requests and drafts responses, integrated with the quoting system through custom connectors and automated workflows.
What changed
Most of a team’s week of manual processing went back to the people who had been doing it, and they spend it on the requests that need judgment.

Marketing automation migration

The situation
A full marketing platform migration with years of accumulated contact data, most of it duplicated, conflicting, or wrong.
What I built
Bulk export tooling in Python plus a complete master data pipeline: merge logic, conflict analysis, golden record construction, and import.
What changed
The migration landed clean, and marketing started over on data it could trust.

Rick Vela Clothing

The situation
A clothier who has dressed Waco’s attorneys, bankers, and law school graduates for decades, now working from a private studio, with an online presence that did not reflect any of it.
What I built
Rebuilt the online presence around how people actually look for a custom clothier. Accurate local listing, a site he can update himself, no e-commerce he does not need.
What changed
In progress. The result goes here once the new site is live.

Congregations and clubs

The situation
Small organizations with no IT department, no budget, and no one to call when the website broke.
What I built
Websites, communication tools, and the workflows to keep them current, chosen specifically so a volunteer could run them.
What changed
They kept running after I left, which is the only measure that matters at this scale.

RailRoam

The situation
Routing apps get you there fastest. Railfans want the route that follows the tracks.
What I built
A working routing application that plots journeys along and near active railroad lines, built on open mapping and routing infrastructure, now moving to iOS and Android.
What changed
It exists, which is the point. Nobody asked me for it. I am taking it to market.
